VPL: the most efficient, safe, fast and comfortable method of permanent hair removal
VPL stands for Variable Pulsed Light and is the
most advanced method of permanent hair removal available
today. When compared to other methods of hair removal
(such as laser hair removal), it is also much less
painfull. Similar to other methods, VPL requires
multiple treatments. The biggest advantage of VPL
is that almost all skin types can be treated, including
dark skin. In short, VPL is the best method for
both men and women who want to get rid of unwanted
hair!
How does it work?
The VPL system works with lightpulses. These concentrated beams of light are aimed at the skin and the light energy is absorbed there by the melanin in the hairs. This causes heating of the hair follicle resulting in destruction of all cells that are in the growth phase. After approximately 3 weeks results will be clearly visible.
The VPL system is different from other light treatments, as each pulse consists of multiple micropulses. In this way, the energy can be easily adapted to the needs of the specific area. In this way, more energy can be brought over to the hair without damaging surrounding tissue. This also means that thinner and lighter hair can be treated more efficiently.
The treatment gives excellent results on all bodyparts: face, neck, arms, armpits, bikiniline, legs, back, chest and abdomen.
Results will already be visible after the first treatment. For permanent hair removal an average of 4-8 treatments is necessary. The interval between treatments depends on which area is treated and could be from 4-12 weeks.
Can all hair- and skintypes be treated?
Hair must have a certain pigmentation (color) in order to be treated. While the easiest are dark hairs, VPL also works for hair with very little pigmentation. Unlike with other light-based hair removal systems, the VPL system allows many different skintypes to be can successfully treated. White, black, Asian and Indian skintypes are no problems.
Are safetymeasures needed?
It is important not to do any hair removal with pincers or resin in the 4 weeks prior to VPL treatment. Cutting and shaving is allowed. Sunbathing and overexposure to the sun should also be avoided in the weeks prior to treatment and also up to 1 week after treatment, unless sunburn protection cream is used.
What does treatment cost?
